Job Description
Morning Barista (7:00 AM - 11:00 AM) The Tufted Puffin Start your day with great coffee and great people! The Tufted Puffin is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Morning Barista to join our team. This position works from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and is available for both full-time and part-time applicants . If you enjoy crafting exceptional beverages, creating positive customer experiences, and working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. Position Summary As a Morning Barista, you will be a key part of our café operations, preparing high-quality beverages, providing outstanding customer service, and helping maintain a clean and welcoming environment. Your enthusiasm, reliability, and attention to detail will help ensure every guest starts their day with a great experience. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including espresso drinks, specialty coffees, teas, Lotus energy drinks, and other café offerings. Deliver friendly, professional, and attentive customer service. Accurately process transactions using point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle cash payments. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout beverage stations, food preparation areas, and customer seating areas. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health standards. Restock products, supplies, and ingredients as needed throughout the shift. Assist with light food preparation and display maintenance. Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management. Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient operations. Create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business and customer loyalty. Qualifications Previous barista, café, food service, or retail experience preferred. Knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso equipment, or specialty beverages is a plus. Experience operating POS systems is beneficial. Strong customer service and communication skills. Basic cash handling and math skills. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
