Food Services Worker Job Description This role supports the food services team by accurately reading meal tickets, assembling meal trays, and ensuring timely delivery to patients, while maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen and dishroom environment. The position does not involve food preparation and focuses on meal tray assembly, distribution, and sanitation tasks within a clean, air-conditioned facility. Responsibilities Read and interpret meal tickets accurately to ensure correct meals are prepared for each patient. Communicate meal ticket information clearly to cooks and kitchen staff. Assemble and place meal trays on carts according to meal tickets and dietary requirements. Distribute meal carts and trays to patients in a timely and organized manner. Work in the dishroom, including loading and unloading dishwashers and organizing clean dishes. Assist on the tray line to assemble and organize meal components for patient trays. Clean and maintain the kitchen, dishroom, and tray line areas to meet sanitation and safety standards. Follow established procedures for handling meal tickets, trays, and kitchen equipment. Support overall kitchen operations by keeping work areas tidy and equipment in good working order. Essential Skills Experience working in foodservice or a similar environment. Ability to read and understand meal tickets accurately. Attention to detail when assembling and organizing meal trays. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen and dishroom setting. Strong sense of cleanliness and adherence to sanitation procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with hospital or healthcare meal ticket systems is beneficial. Comfort working on a tray line and handling dishroom responsibilities. Ability to collaborate with cooks and other kitchen staff. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
