Job Posting Food Service Dishwasher Vicksburg Community Schools 2026-2027
School Year Salary:
Per VESPA Contract Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated individual to add to our food service team as a Dishwasher. This position works 9:45am-1:30pm, Mon-Fri, student days only, approximately 18.75 hours per week. Responsibilities
Wash and sanitize plates, utensils, pots, pans and trays.
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, counters and floors.
Assist with garbage removal and recycling breakup.
Help serve meals or stock cafeteria lines when needed.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, work areas, and serving spaces
Support meal service and interact positively with students and staff
Follow all health department and school district regulations
General kitchen tasks as assigned by the kitchen supervisor and food service director.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must be ServSafe certified; or obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days of hire
Must have a good attendance record.
Must possess good decision-making skills.
Must be flexible in work assignments.
Must have experience in kitchen safety and sanitation.
Must have a commitment to working as a team to achieve goals.
Must demonstrate sociability and warmth in attitude toward students, other employees, and the supervisor.
Must have a moderate level of math skills and be able to operate computerized machines if called upon.
Must pass background checks and comply with state and district requirements for working with students. Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move about the building and campus to assist students.
May require and employee to lift and/or move heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
May require an employee to stand for extended periods of time.
