Job Posting Food Service Dishwasher Vicksburg Community Schools 2026-2027
School Year Salary:
Per VESPA Contract Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated individual to add to our food service team as a Dishwasher. This position works 9:45am-1:30pm, Mon-Fri, student days only, approximately 18.75 hours per week. Responsibilities- Wash and sanitize plates, utensils, pots, pans and trays.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, counters and floors.
- Assist with garbage removal and recycling breakup.
- Help serve meals or stock cafeteria lines when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, work areas, and serving spaces
- Support meal service and interact positively with students and staff
- Follow all health department and school district regulations
- General kitchen tasks as assigned by the kitchen supervisor and food service director.

- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be ServSafe certified; or obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days of hire
- Must have a good attendance record.
- Must possess good decision-making skills.
- Must be flexible in work assignments.
- Must have experience in kitchen safety and sanitation.
- Must have a commitment to working as a team to achieve goals.
- Must demonstrate sociability and warmth in attitude toward students, other employees, and the supervisor.
- Must have a moderate level of math skills and be able to operate computerized machines if called upon.
- Must pass background checks and comply with state and district requirements for working with students. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move about the building and campus to assist students.
- May require and employee to lift and/or move heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
- May require an employee to stand for extended periods of time.
