Full-Time Dog Pool Attendant The Furshire - Dog Daycare & Boarding Do you love dogs and want a job where you actually get to spend your day with them? The Furshire is looking for a full-time Dog Pool Attendant to join our team. This is a fun, active, hands-on position where you'll spend your shift interacting with dogs, playing with them, swimming with them, and making sure everyone is having a safe and enjoyable time. Our pool is an important part of the dogs' day, and we're looking for someone who can have fun with them while still staying focused on safety and each dog's individual needs. What You'll Be Doing
Supervise dogs during pool time and outdoor play
Play, interact, and swim with the dogs
Help make pool time fun and enriching
Closely monitor dogs and their interactions at all times
Make sure dogs are playing safely in and around the pool
Recognize when a dog needs a break from swimming or group play
Watch for signs of stress, overheating, fatigue, or unsafe behavior
Monitor dog body language and intervene when necessary
Follow our procedures for dog rotations, breaks, and time-outs
Communicate with kennel attendants and managers when a dog needs a break, additional attention, or a change in activity
Keep the pool, pool deck, yards, and surrounding areas clean and organized
Skim and clean the pool throughout the day as needed
Assist with routine pool care and maintenance
Pick up after dogs and help maintain clean play areas
Clean and sanitize equipment and areas as required
Report injuries, unusual behavior, safety concerns, or facility issues to management immediately
Assist the kennel team with other duties when needed Who We're Looking For You don't necessarily need years of kennel experience.
We're looking for someone who is dependable, attentive, comfortable around dogs, and willing to learn.
The right person should:
Genuinely enjoy working and interacting with dogs
Be comfortable with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities
Be comfortable getting in the pool and swimming with dogs
Be confident working around groups of dogs
Be able to stay focused and attentive while still having fun with the dogs
Understand that safety always comes first
Be willing to learn dog body language and safe handling techniques
Be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in Arizona weather
Be able to stand and walk for extended periods
Be able to bend, lift, clean, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
Have reliable transportation
Be dependable and punctual
Work well with kennel attendants, managers, and the rest of the team Previous professional dog-handling, daycare, boarding, veterinary, training, or animal-care experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
Pay starting at $16.00 per hour Starting pay may be higher based on previous experience, including dog daycare, boarding, kennel, veterinary, training, or other relevant animal-care experience. Full-Time Schedule Our Pool Attendant shifts generally fall within:
AM Shift :
4:00 AM - 12:30/1:00
PM PM Shift :
12:00 PM - 8:00/9:00 PM End times may vary depending on occupancy, workload, and the needs of the dogs in our care. Weekend and holiday availability is required . We care for dogs 365 days a year, and weekends and holidays are some of our busiest times. About The Furshire The Furshire is a dog daycare and boarding facility focused on providing dogs with a safe, clean, structured, and enjoyable environment. We are under new management and are building a strong, dependable team of people who genuinely care about the dogs and take pride in the work they do. This isn't a job where you'll be sitting around watching dogs from the sidelines. You'll be interacting with them, playing, swimming, moving, cleaning, and working alongside the rest of our team.
