Fun Zone USA | Meadowood Mall -
Reno, NV Pay:

Job Type:
Full-time Work Location:

Location:
5170 Meadowood Mall Circle, Reno, NV 89502 ABOUT
FUN ZONE USA
Fun Zone USA was built on grit, hospitality, and resilience. What began as a small arcade route grew through hard work, difficult lessons, and determination into something bigger and better. Today, we are growing with intention and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences, developing strong teams, and building a healthy company culture. Our Reno location features two 9-hole miniature golf courses, a full-size arcade, and party and event operations.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Fun Zone USA is looking for a hands-on, systems-minded General Manager to lead our Reno location. This position goes well beyond running shifts. We need a steady and dependable leader who can organize people and priorities, communicate consistently, solve problems, build useful systems, and improve the operation over time. The right person does not need to know every system on day one. They do need to be curious, resourceful, and capable of teaching themselves new tools and processes. They must be willing to learn our existing structure before attempting to change it, then use their experience and observations to recommend thoughtful improvements. This is a highly visible position for someone who enjoys developing people, connecting with guests, solving problems, and building an operation the team and community can be proud of.
OUR CULTURE
IT'S
IN YOU, NOT ON YOU
At Fun Zone USA, hospitality, enthusiasm, and leadership are not things you simply put on with a uniform. They must come from within. We call this "It's in you, not on you." We are an outgoing, social, and energetic place, so we naturally attract people who enjoy interacting with others. You do not need to be the loudest person in the room, but you should be comfortable starting conversations, making people feel included, bringing a team together, and creating genuine energy. For our General Manager, that energy must also be supported by organization, consistency, sound judgment, and follow-through. Personality helps create the experience, but disciplined leadership keeps the operation running.
OUR CORE VALUES
We Are a Welcoming Community We want guests and team members to feel seen, respected, included, and comfortable being themselves. We Are Excited to Be Here Enthusiasm is contagious. We bring genuine energy, remain engaged, and help create an environment people want to be part of. We Keep Things Fresh We stay curious, welcome new ideas, learn new systems, and continually look for ways to improve the guest and employee experience. We Celebrate Uniqueness and Creativity We value individuality, encourage creative thinking, and recognize that different perspectives can make our company stronger. Don't Learn Safety by Accident Safety must be intentional. We train proactively, follow procedures, communicate concerns, and correct hazards before someone gets hurt. These values shape how we hire, train, lead, make decisions, and hold one another accountable.
THE REALITY OF THE ROLE
Fun is what we provide to our guests. Operational discipline is what makes that fun possible. Working in an arcade and miniature golf environment can be enjoyable and fulfilling, but this is a serious management position—not an opportunity to simply be around games and attractions. The General Manager is responsible for employees, guest safety, daily revenue, parties and events, facility standards, operational systems, and the overall performance of the location. Equipment will occasionally fail. Employees will call out. Priorities will change. Guests will sometimes need immediate assistance. When these situations arise, the General Manager must remain calm, establish priorities, communicate clearly, and lead the team toward a solution. This role requires consistent follow-through, timely reporting, difficult conversations when necessary, and a willingness to handle both highly visible responsibilities and routine tasks that cannot be ignored. We want someone who can help create the fun—not someone who mistakes the workplace for playtime.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LEADERSHIP AND CULTURE
Lead, coach, and develop a customer-facing team Set the tone for hospitality, teamwork, professionalism, and accountability Establish clear expectations and follow through consistently Lead productive team huddles and keep employees informed Build trust while maintaining strong performance standards Address conflicts and performance concerns directly, calmly, and professionally Recognize individual strengths and help team members grow Create an environment where employees understand both what is expected and why it matters
DAILY OPERATIONS
Oversee daily operations across miniature golf, arcade, parties, and events Maintain strong standards for safety, cleanliness, attraction readiness, and guest flow Remain visible and engaged during busy periods Anticipate problems, establish priorities, and follow issues through to completion Adjust plans when staffing, equipment, guest volume, or business needs change Make sound decisions without requiring constant direction Partner with ownership on scheduling, systems, performance tracking, and operational priorities
SYSTEMS, ORGANIZATION, AND REPORTING
Maintain a dependable end-of-day reporting routine Provide clear EOD reports covering sales, staffing, parties, guest concerns, maintenance issues, accomplishments, and required follow-up Keep ownership informed of important developments without waiting to be asked Surface concerns early instead of allowing problems to grow Identify recurring operational problems and turn solutions into repeatable systems Build and maintain useful checklists, procedures, training materials, and accountability tools Learn new software and operational systems independently Help employees understand and adopt new systems Track commitments, assign ownership, and ensure open items are completed
HIRING AND TRAINING
Recruit, interview, onboard, train, schedule, and coach team members Maintain appropriate staffing levels Build a team that reflects Fun Zone USA's culture and core values Ensure employees are properly trained before working independently Reinforce procedures and address performance concerns consistently Develop team members who show the ability and desire to take on more responsibility
GUEST EXPERIENCE, PARTIES, AND EVENTS
Create a welcoming, organized, and memorable experience for every guest Oversee birthday parties, group events, and special bookings Ensure party and event procedures are followed consistently Handle guest concerns with empathy, sound judgment, and effective service recovery Help the team remain welcoming and composed during busy or difficult situations Recognize opportunities to increase sales, repeat visits, and positive word of mouth
ADAPTABILITY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Every family entertainment center operates differently. Our General Manager must be able to follow company standards while recognizing the specific needs of the Reno location. The person in this role will be expected to: Learn the operation before attempting to redesign it Understand the reasoning behind existing procedures Recognize what should remain consistent across the company Identify where location-specific adjustments may be beneficial Communicate concerns and recommendations constructively Pivot when circumstances change without losing focus or consistency Bring forward new ideas while remaining aligned with the company's goals and structure Accept feedback and use it to improve
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE A
successful General Manager will create an operation where: Team members understand their responsibilities and receive consistent leadership Ownership receives accurate and timely updates Important information does not need to be repeatedly requested Problems are surfaced early and followed through to resolution Recurring issues become documented, repeatable processes Safety and facility standards are treated proactively Parties and events are organized and reliably executed Guests receive a consistent experience, even during challenging shifts The location continues improving instead of repeatedly solving the same problems
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You may be a strong fit if you are: Consistent, dependable, and organized A clear written and verbal communicator Proactive and comfortable working without constant direction Able to prioritize competing needs in a fast-moving environment Resourceful and capable of teaching yourself unfamiliar systems A thoughtful problem-solver who builds sustainable solutions Comfortable making decisions and being accountable for the outcome Skilled at reading people, facilitating teamwork, and adjusting your communication style Comfortable initiating conversations and creating connections Able to hold people accountable without losing empathy or respect Receptive to feedback and willing to adapt Someone who enjoys the entertainment environment while maintaining professional boundaries and sound judgment Genuinely interested in guests, employees, and the long-term success of the business Experience leading a customer-facing team is expected. Benefits:
Employee discount Paid time off Application Question(s): This is a full-time, in-person position at Meadowood Mall in Reno paying $30.00 per hour. Does the location and compensation align with what you are seeking? Are you able to work a flexible management schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs? This is a hands-on leadership position. Are you comfortable remaining visible in the operation, assisting the team when needed, and handling responsibilities that may fall outside a typical office-based management role? Fun Zone USA is an outgoing and welcoming environment. Tell us about a specific time you took the initiative to make a guest, employee, or new team member feel welcomed and included. What did you notice, what did you do, and what was the result? One of our core values is "Don't learn safety by accident." Describe a time you identified a safety concern or weak procedure before an incident occurred. What action did you take, who did you communicate with, and what changed afterward? Tell us about an unfamiliar system, software program, or operational process you had to learn largely on your own. How did you learn it, and how did you use that knowledge to improve or organize the operation for others? This position requires consistent end-of-day reporting. Write a brief sample EOD report using the following fictional information: Sales finished above the daily goal One employee called out, but the shift was covered Two birthday parties were completed successfully An air-hockey table developed an intermittent problem One guest received a refund because of a delay A replacement part still needs to be ordered Keep your report to eight bullets or fewer. Clearly identify anything requiring follow-up and who should be responsible for the next step. Imagine it is a busy Saturday. A team member calls out, a birthday party begins in 20 minutes, a key attraction stops working, and an upset guest asks to speak with the manager. What are your first three actions? What would you delegate, what would you handle personally, and how would you keep the team informed? Would you be willing to record and link a short video that highlights your personality and attributes? If so, the video should be a concise, compelling story using a past, present, and future format to highlight your relevant skills, experience, and enthusiasm.
