In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our tasting room, guiding guests through memorable wine experiences while providing exceptional customer service. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in wine knowledge, sales, and hospitality within a dynamic food and beverage setting. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide engaging wine tastings that highlight our portfolio of wines. Educate customers on wine characteristics, production methods, and pairing suggestions to enhance their tasting experience. Manage POS systems such as Toast POS and Winesoft POS to process sales accurately and efficiently. Upsell products by recommending wines, merchandise, or food pairings to increase guest satisfaction and sales. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room, including glassware, tasting stations, and display areas. Assist with menu planning for tastings and events, ensuring offerings align with guest preferences and seasonal availability. Uphold food safety standards during food handling and meal preparation when applicable. Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless service during busy periods or special events. Support team leadership in training new staff members and maintaining a positive team environment. Qualifications Previous experience in wine service, restaurant, or food and beverage industry preferred; fine dining or banquet experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of wines, including wine service techniques and wine knowledge fundamentals. Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell wine confidently while ensuring guest satisfaction. Ability to upsell effectively by understanding customer preferences and product features. Familiarity with food handling, safety protocols, and meal preparation is advantageous. Proven ability to work well in a team-oriented environment within the hospitality or food industry. Strong communication skills with a positive attitude and energetic approach to guest interactions.
