Job Title:

Custodian Also known as janitors or caretakers, ensure that buildings and facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained for occupants and visitors. They perform a variety of tasks that include cleaning, minor maintenance, and managing supplies, often working independently or under the supervision of a facility manager or maintenance supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitation:

 Sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum floors; clean windows, mirrors, and partitions; sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies; dust furniture, walls, and equipment

Trash and Waste Management:

 Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, and other waste materials to maintain a tidy environment

Minor Maintenance:

 Replace light bulbs, fix leaky faucets, perform basic repairs, and inspect heating, cooling, and fire safety systems

Inventory Management:

 Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are available and in good working conditions

Safety and Compliance:

 Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and equipment use, maintain a safe environment, and report hazards or needed repairs Skills and Qualifications Physical stamina and strength to perform repetitive tasks and cover large areas Attention to detail and diligence in maintaining cleanliness and safety Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols Good communication skills for reporting issues and interacting with staff or visitors

Must:
