Shared Hospital Services is looking for a Janitorial position in Portsmouth, Va. This position is primarily Sunday night through Thursday morning, and occasional Saturdays. It also offers medical/dental insurance, company paid life insurance, company matched 401k retirement plan up to 6% and earned paid time off benefits for eligible full-time employees. 3rd Shift- Sunday PM through Thursday AM (10pm-630am) occasional Saturdays as needed

Maintenance Manager Overview:

This position is responsible for general cleaning of the building as well as maintaining a hygienically clean work environment in areas where there is direct contact with clean textiles. Other tasks include cleaning restrooms, break rooms, plant 'blow-down' and fire prevention measures.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate must be able to follow instructions and to interact appropriately with coworkers, management, vendors, and guests. Associate must be able to stand/walk 100% of the scheduled workday Associate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Associate must be willing to handle potentially infectious materials and to work in unfavorable conditions such as hot and cold temperatures. Associate must be able to work overtime and weekends as required by the business.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Complete all tasks assigned to each area of the plant as outlined on the daily cleaning schedules. Keeps plant, outside building perimeters, restrooms, lunchroom and offices clean. Collects and empties trash. Blows lint from ceilings, overhanging pipes, etc.., walls and equipment sweeps floors. Refills hand soap and paper towel dispensers. All other duties as may be assigned by management. Janitors are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in various facilities, performing a wide range of cleaning and maintenance tasks. Janitor Cleaning Tasks :

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors. Dust and polish furniture and fixtures. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors. Empty trash bins and recycling containers. Clean windows and mirrors.

Maintenance Duties :

Perform minor repairs, such as fixing leaky faucets or changing light bulbs. Inspect facilities for cleanliness and safety, reporting any maintenance issues to supervisors. Restock supplies in restrooms and kitchens, including paper products and soap.

Outdoor Responsibilities :

Maintain outdoor areas by mowing lawns, sweeping walkways, and removing litter. Clear snow and ice from walkways during winter months.

Safety and Compliance :

Follow safety protocols and cleaning procedures to ensure a safe environment. Use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly, adhering to safety guidelines.

Additional Duties :

Lock and unlock buildings as needed, ensuring security. Complete janitorial checklists at the end of each shift to document tasks performed. Assist with special cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning or floor waxing.
