Job Description

Cambridge Elementary School is dedicated to providing a clean and safe environment for students and staff. We are looking for a substitute custodian and a typical shift is from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

As a custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the building. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will ensure a welcoming environment for all occupants. The ideal candidate will be self-reliant, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Duties:

• Perform industrial cleaning tasks to uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, and common areas
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
• Dust and sanitize surfaces
• Clean windows and glass surfaces
• Operate buffing machines to maintain floor appearance
• Restock supplies in restrooms and other areas as necessary
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Facilities Manager
  Skills
• Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work is preferred but not required
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or collaboratively with a team
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors
