Immediate Openings We are actively hiring for: ✅ Morning shifts ✅ Afternoon shifts ✅ Evening shifts ✅ Weekday shifts ✅ Weekend shifts Required Certification Applicants must already possess a current Lifeguard Certification to be considered. What You'll Do Maintain active surveillance of the pool and surrounding areas Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies Enforce safety rules and YMCA policies Build positive relationships with members and guests Perform pool safety checks and facility inspections Assist with maintaining a clean and safe aquatic environment Work collaboratively with the aquatics team What Makes a Great Lifeguard at the Y? We're looking for individuals who are: Responsible and dependable Calm under pressure Attentive and safety-focused Friendly and welcoming Team-oriented Passionate about serving the community Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 15 years old by date of hire
Required Certifications:
American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Certificate, American Red Cross First Aid for the Public Safety Personnel (Title 22), and American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certificate. Ability to meet all YMCA and Red Cross lifeguarding standards Ability to maintain certification-level physical readiness DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance required Why Choose the Sonoma County Family YMCA?
