Burkwood Swim & Racquet Club is seeking a dependable, organized Aquatics Coordinator to support the day-to-day operation of our indoor and outdoor pools. This is a hands-on role for someone who communicates well, notices details, enjoys helping both employees and members, and stays calm when plans change. What You Will Do
Help coordinate staff schedules, shift coverage, daily assignments, and approved schedule updates.
Support hiring and onboarding logistics, certification tracking, uniforms, training records, and staff communications.
Complete or coordinate pool opening, closing, safety, cleaning, and readiness checklists.
Monitor and document water chemistry and pool conditions when trained and authorized, and promptly report unsafe or out-of-range conditions.
Keep aquatics files, calendars, incident records, supply inventories, and other required documentation organized and current.
Assist with safety drills, in-service training, seasonal pool opening and closing, deliveries, and vendor access.
Provide friendly, professional service to members and guests and support gate and guest-registration procedures.
Recognize concerns that require management attention and promptly communicate them to the Aquatics Director or General Manager. What We Are Looking For
Reliable, mature, organized, and comfortable balancing several priorities.
Clear and respectful communicator with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
Able to remain calm during emergencies, member concerns, schedule changes, and busy pool operations.
Prior aquatics, recreation, hospitality, scheduling, administrative, or customer-service experience preferred.
Comfort using email, calendars, spreadsheets, scheduling systems, and routine office technology.
Current CPR/AED and first aid certifications required, or ability to obtain before beginning independent aquatics duties.
Lifeguard certification strongly preferred and may be required based on assigned duties.
CPO or AFO certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain within Burkwood's required timeframe.
Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certified or willing to obtain LGI certification Physical and Scheduling Requirements This position works both indoors and outdoors in heat, humidity, sun, rain, and wet or slippery conditions and may work around pool chemicals using required safety practices.
The role requires prolonged standing and walking, bending, reaching, moving routine aquatics supplies, and assisting in an emergency response, with or without reasonable accommodation. Why Burkwood? Pay:
$40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
