POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Conference and Retreat Director, and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, the Conference and Retreat Program Counselor is responsible for safety, supervision, programming and involvement with program participants at the designated YMCA Camp and Conference Center. Provide a safe environment for all participants and staff Guide and direct participants in a variety of camp activities Be a positive role model and influence for participants Take part in all trainings to develop proficiencies required for performing job responsibilities Cooperate in maintaining the grounds, and see that facility equipment is used properly, and returned in good condition

Requirements:

Mature individual with good moral character and integrity. Clear communication skills with children, adults, co- workers and supervisors. Leadership experience with youth groups, school, church or community. Skill and ability in specific program responsibility. Strong decision making skills and initiative. Safety certifications and all trainings and certifications in accordance with the Quality Standards within required timeframe.
