A program instructor within our organization would be responsible for teaching assigned weekly classes, supervising participants, and following an agreed upon curriculum that meets pre-set goals for assigned classes. Instructors should maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere between all students, parents, and staff members. The pay for the role is negotiable, and the position is part-time. A program instructor reports to the Youth or Adult/Senior Recreation Supervisor.

Preparing class curriculum and participant goals prior to start date of program
Adjusting and preparing a weekly lesson plan
Taking attendance of participants
Teaching a variety of youth participants at weekly classes
Plans and coordinates with Recreation Supervisor for supplies, recitals, games, etc. depending on the nature of the program being taught
Attend any meetings as required by Recreation Supervisors or Parks and Recreation Director
Other relevant duties as assigned
Background in subject matter being taught
Teaching experience is preferred
First Aid/CPR certification is preferred
Friendly and welcoming personality
Ability to manage a classroom of students
Ability to adapt to all ages, levels, and abilities
Knowledge of program topic/skill
Great work ethic including integrity, self-motivation, and passion for working with others
