Rita's on the River is known by many as the place "Where we take our friends from out of town". It has become nationally famous as a must-visit restaurant on the San Antonio Riverwalk. Along with ample river seating, we're known for our delicious margaritas, handmade tortillas and hot sizzling fajitas.

" Description As a Cooking Class Facilitator, you will lead guests through Rita's cooking classes, teaching them how to prepare signature Rita's recipes while sharing the food, culture, and traditions behind them. Current classes include tableside guacamole, the El Jefe Margarita, and tamales from scratch . Approved facilitators will receive training on the recipes, preparation techniques, class format, and expectations before independently leading classes.

Responsibilities include:

Lead cooking classes in an engaging, professional, and welcoming manner. Demonstrate and teach cooking techniques and recipes to guests. Interact with guests throughout the experience and answer questions. Prepare the Test Kitchen before each class and complete cleanup afterward. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the class. Ensure recipes, food preparation, and presentation follow Rita's standards. Provide an exceptional guest experience from beginning to end. Represent Rita's professionally and positively during all classes.

Ideal candidates should be:

Current Rita's employees in good standing. In good standing regarding their attendance and punctuality, with a consistent record of arriving on time and being dependable for scheduled shifts. Comfortable speaking in front of groups. Energetic, personable, and enthusiastic about hospitality. Able to teach and explain processes clearly. Organized and dependable. Comfortable working independently while following established procedures. Passionate about food and creating memorable guest experiences. Compensation $25 per hour 23% gratuity on cooking class revenue Cooking classes typically require approximately 4 hours total , including setup, the class itself, and breakdown. Expected compensation is approximately $125-$200+ per class , depending on the number of guests. Larger classes may provide the opportunity to earn more than $200 per class . Interview Process As part of the interview process, applicants will be asked to prepare and deliver a 15-minute presentation on a topic of their choosing . The topic does not have to be related to cooking. This presentation will allow us to evaluate your communication skills, presentation style, ability to engage an audience, and comfort teaching others. This position is currently being offered exclusively to existing Rita's on the River employees. External applications will not be considered at this time. Salary $25 - $25 per hour
