Job Summary Taverna Mediterraneo is a family-owned Italian and Portuguese restaurant looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking Server to join our team. We take pride in providing our guests with great food, attentive service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. As a Server, you'll help create a great experience for our guests from the moment they arrive until the end of their meal. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, stays positive in a fast-paced environment, and is willing to work as part of a team to keep things running smoothly. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and assist with seating and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, and specialty cocktails to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales Process cash and card transactions efficiently while maintaining accuracy in sales and cash handling Take food and drink orders accurately Enter orders and process payments using the POS system Serve beverages, meals, and desserts in a timely and professional manner Check in with guests throughout their meal and ensure they are satisfied Answer questions about menu items and provide recommendations when appropriate Set, clear, clean, and reset tables Prepare the dining area and tables for service Restock beverages, silverware, supplies, and other restaurant items as needed Maintain a clean and organized dining and service area Complete opening and closing duties depending on the scheduled shift Work closely with other team members to provide smooth and efficient service Requirements Friendly, dependable, and professional Strong communication & excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy shifts Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn and help wherever needed Maintain a clean and professional appearance Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities Previous serving or restaurant experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider the right candidate Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, and holidays
