Server - Sam HillFull Job Description Servers at Sam Hill are responsible for creating an excellent dining experience by providing friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive service from the moment guests sit down until they leave. Servers guide guests through our food and beverage menus, take and deliver accurate orders, maintain their tables throughout the meal, and work closely with Hosts, Bartenders, Support Staff, Kitchen Staff, and Managers to keep service running smoothly. Sam Hill includes our indoor restaurant as well as The Yard, our large outdoor dining and entertainment space. Our business can range from a traditional dinner service to busy summer evenings with live music, events, and a packed outdoor space. Successful Servers can adapt, stay organized, and provide great hospitality even when things get hectic. This is a tipped position. Evening and weekend availability is required. Essential Functions Arrives on time and prepared for all scheduled shifts. Greets tables promptly and makes guests feel welcome. Develops a strong working knowledge of Sam Hill's food, beer, wine, cocktails, and other beverages. Answers guest questions and makes thoughtful recommendations. Accurately takes and enters food and beverage orders. Checks identification and follows all applicable alcohol-service policies. Maintains tables throughout the guest experience, including pre-bussing, clearing, resetting, and anticipating guest needs. Communicates allergies, dietary restrictions, special requests, and other important information to the appropriate team members. Checks back with guests and addresses problems quickly when something isn't right. Processes guest payments accurately. Maintains a clean and organized section and service stations. Completes opening, running, and closing side work. Works with Hosts and Managers to maintain efficient table turns and service flow. Supports fellow Servers and other team members rather than focusing only on their own section. Takes initiative to help wherever needed. What Success Looks Like Successful Servers at

Genuinely enjoy taking care of people. Are friendly and engaging without being intrusive. Can manage multiple tables and priorities at the same time. Move quickly and efficiently without appearing frantic. Know what is happening at their tables without needing to be reminded. Communicate clearly with both Front and Back of House staff. Take responsibility for mistakes and work quickly to make things right. Understand that great service is a team effort. Maintain a positive, professional attitude during busy or stressful shifts. Show up prepared and can be counted on by their teammates. Look for what needs to be done instead of waiting to be asked. Previous serving experience in a busy full-service restaurant is strongly preferred. However, we will consider candidates with strong hospitality experience who are motivated to learn. Compensation This is a tipped position consisting of an hourly wage plus tips. Physical Demands Walking and standing for extended periods of time. Bending, reaching, and carrying throughout the shift. Ability to safely carry trays containing food, dishes, and beverages. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Ability to move quickly and safely through busy dining and service areas. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors depending on the season and assigned area.
