Duties Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and drinks. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems Serve food and beverages—while maintaining high standards of presentation and safety. Upsell menu items by recommending specials, pairing wines or spirits, and promoting signature dishes to enhance guest experience and increase sales. Manage multiple tables efficiently by prioritizing service needs, refilling drinks, bussing tables, and attending to guest requests promptly. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations; handle food preparation areas when necessary. Process cash transactions accurately using POS systems like OpenTable or other restaurant management software; handle cash handling with integrity. Assist in food handling, setup, and breakdown during shifts; support kitchen staff when needed to ensure smooth service flow. Foster positive guest relations through attentive service, addressing concerns proactively to ensure satisfaction. Support team members during busy hours by coordinating efforts in beverage service, bussing, hosting duties, or other restaurant operations. Skills Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on fine dining Strong knowledge of POS systems for efficient order processing and sales management. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally. Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items confidently while respecting guest preferences. Knowledge of wine varieties, spirits, cocktail recipes, and beverage service techniques including drink presentation. Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables seamlessly during busy shifts. Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities. Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, food handling procedures, and proper serving techniques. Experience in hospitality roles such as host/hostess or bussing enhances your ability to support overall restaurant operations.
