As a Back Waiter, you'll play a critical role in delivering an exceptional dining experience by supporting servers, maintaining impeccable table presentation, and ensuring every detail of service is executed seamlessly. This is a fast-paced position ideal for individuals who thrive under pressure, take pride in anticipating guests' needs, and are passionate about hospitality. Success in this role requires urgency, professionalism, attention to detail, and a team-first mentality. Responsibilities Assist servers throughout each service by anticipating guest and table needs before being asked. Deliver food quickly and accurately while maintaining presentation standards and proper plate placement. Clear, reset, and maintain tables throughout service to ensure a polished dining room at all times. Refill and maintain water service, bread service, and table accompaniments. Polish glassware, flatware, and service pieces to restaurant standards. Maintain clean, organized service stations and dining areas before, during, and after each shift. Communicate continuously with servers, food runners, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service. Assist with opening and closing side work, including stocking stations and preparing the dining room for service. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Support teammates wherever needed to create a seamless guest experience. Qualifications Previous experience as a Back Waiter, Busser, Food Runner, or Server Assistant in a high-volume or upscale restaurant preferred. Strong sense of urgency with the ability to multitask during busy service periods. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to hospitality. Professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with both front and back of house. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely lift and carry trays, racks, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
