Food Runner Company:

Kimmys Cafe Position Overview Kimmys Cafe is looking for a dependable, fast-paced, and team-oriented Food Expo / Food Runner to help keep our kitchen and dining room running smoothly. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure food is delivered from the kitchen to the correct table quickly, accurately, and with a friendly attitude. This team member plays an important role in supporting servers, particularly during busy periods when a server may be unavailable to immediately run their food. The Food Expo / Food Runner helps bridge the gap between the kitchen and front-of-house team, ensuring guests receive their meals promptly and that food leaves the kitchen looking its best. Key Responsibilities Monitor the kitchen pass/expo area and ensure completed orders are delivered promptly. Match food items with the correct table and order. Run food to guests when servers are busy or unavailable. Communicate with servers and kitchen staff regarding orders, special requests, and missing items. Check plates for accuracy, presentation, and completeness before taking them to the table. Deliver food safely and professionally while maintaining proper food-handling practices. Assist servers by keeping food moving during busy periods. Help clear plates and maintain an organized dining room when needed. Keep the expo area clean, stocked, and organized. Communicate delays, missing items, or order issues to the appropriate team member or manager. Assist with side work and other front-of-house duties as needed. Work as part of a team to provide fast and friendly service to every guest. Qualifications Friendly, dependable, and team-oriented. Able to work quickly and efficiently in a busy restaurant environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to remember table numbers and orders. Good communication skills. Able to remain calm and organized during busy service periods. Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods. Able to carry food trays and multiple plates safely. Previous restaurant or food-service experience is preferred but not required. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who understands that timing matters in a restaurant. When food is ready, it should not sit in the window waiting for someone to become available. The ideal Food Expo / Food Runner is proactive and pays attention to what is happening around them. You see food ready to go, identify where it needs to go, and help get it there. You will work closely with our kitchen staff, servers, hosts, and management to keep service flowing smoothly and make sure our guests receive their food promptly.
