The Role We're looking for a Director of People & Culture to own what makes Bruxie a great place to work. This isn't a compliance-first HR role — it's a culture-first role for someone who wants to build programs that make people proud to work here, cut turnover, and turn crew members into future GMs. You'll spend real time in our restaurants — you know our managers by name, you understand what a Friday dinner rush actually feels like, and you build people programs from the floor up, not from behind a desk. What You'll Do Build and own our culture strategy across all locations — onboarding experience, internal comms, recognition programs, and team engagement Hire and develop a team of great character — people who reflect our standards for hospitality and integrity, not just skill on paper Partner with GMs and ops leadership to reduce turnover and grow internal promotion rates Design employer branding and hiring experience that attracts people who want to build a career with us Build simple, human systems for feedback, recognition, and growth conversations Be a visible, trusted presence across our locations — not just HQ Partner with outside HR/legal/PEO resources on compliance and technical HR needs (this role is not expected to own employment law or benefits administration solo) What We're Looking For Experience building or elevating culture at a multi-unit restaurant, retail, or hospitality brand A people-first leader who's comfortable in the field, not just in meetings Strong instincts for what makes hourly and management teams stay, grow, and refer friends Excellent communicator — written, verbal, and in-person Entrepreneurial, hands-on, resourceful — this is a builder role, not a maintainer role Compensation $120,000-$150,000 base, commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus tied to retention and culture metrics.
