Position Overview The HR Coordinator provides a broad range of HR support to all team members. Responsibilities include recruiting, team member relations, performance management, policy communication, and legal compliance. The HR Coordinator is responsible for proactively maintaining a steady pool of applicants for open and upcoming positions, staffing, monitoring company email, employee communication, maintaining employee confidentiality, assisting with phone calls and scheduling, keeping the hiring board current, keeping SDS books updated, and assisting in the office as needed. This position requires a professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels of the organization. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills are essential, along with strong analytical, and problem-solving skills. Job Duties & Responsibilities Staffing & Recruiting Proactively identify staff vacancies and concerns, including addressing understaffing in a challenging employment environment. Use a variety of venues for recruitment, including Kwantek, Indeed, JFS, Ohio Works, job boards, and job fairs. Review and call all applicants daily. Analyze candidate experience, work history, and location. Conduct reference and background checks. Keep new employee contact information in a prominent place at the HR desk. Plan and conduct new employee orientations to foster positive attitudes toward organizational objectives. Provide building specifications to new employees. If possible, orientation should be completed directly after the interview. Analyze training needs to design employee development, health, and safety programs. Meet with the GM and other department managers to discuss current staffing and project employment needs. Interview walk-in applicants and maintain paper applicant files. Employee Relations Follow up with new employees at regular intervals to monitor training and employee satisfaction. Serve as a link between employees and management, handling questions and helping resolve issues. Provide current and prospective employees with information regarding policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for advancement, and benefits. Organize necessary meetings and training. Keep the employee news board and Wall of Fame up to date. Compliance & HR Administration Maintain records concerning personnel-related data, including hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism records. Analyze training needs for employee development, health, and safety. Focus on the importance of employee compliance regarding wet floor signs, cameras in buildings, alarm codes, and other safety and security requirements. Investigate and report employee accidents for insurance carriers. Use the HR Manager's input to proactively develop and update company policies and job descriptions as needed. Work With the
HR Manager To:
Stay informed on changing local, state, and federal employment laws. Attend seminars and webinars for personal development and utilize resources available through SHRM and BSCAI. Attend required monthly Medina Safety Council meetings. Stay current with OSHA requirements and changes. Keep the company website updated with current SDS sheets for all products used. Office & Administrative Support Check company email and respond or forward messages as necessary. Answer incoming calls within three rings. Schedule customer cleanings, take credit card payments, handle service issues, and take supply orders as they come in. Assist walk-in customers and process incoming and outgoing rugs. Inventory, dispense, and order employee uniforms. File processed invoices on a weekly basis. Assist in the office as needed. Working Conditions & Schedule Workdays are commonly Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sitting and standing in an office environment. Long periods of looking at a computer screen and making phone calls. Employment Requirements High school diploma or equivalent GED required; college study in business or Human Resources preferred. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage and prioritize tasks. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
