Job Description
Location:
Port Townsend, WA Human Resources Analyst I
Operations & Processes Jefferson County is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented, and highly organized Human Resources (HR) Analyst to coordinate and support a wide range of HR processes across the organization.
This is a hands-on, professional-level position for someone who takes pride in getting the details right, can manage multiple processes and deadlines, and enjoys working with departments to move things forward. Much of the work is process-driven and requires careful data entry, document preparation, records management, reporting, follow-up, and coordination to ensure that personnel actions are completed accurately and on time, and HR programs remain on track. The ideal candidate is also a strong communicator and skilled coordinator who can build effective working relationships across departments, explain requirements clearly, track down missing information, and follow through when others have competing priorities. At times, the work goes beyond established processes and requires an analytical approach
researching the history of an employee or personnel action, reviewing policies or collective bargaining agreements, analyzing compensation or other HR data, resolving discrepancies, and developing recommendations when the answer isn't immediately clear.
The position supports HR programs and processes throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment and onboarding, personnel administration, training coordination, employee records, compliance, HR data management and reporting, and other HR initiatives. The Human Resources Analyst must exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality and data integrity, and apply applicable laws, policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements to a variety of personnel matters. A successful candidate will be equally comfortable working through a detailed process step-by-step and stepping back to ask, "Why doesn't this make sense, and what do we need to do to figure it out?" If you enjoy bringing order to a stack of paperwork, solving the mystery when the numbers don't add up, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks, we welcome your application.
