The Workforce Development Network Director leads the Central Ohio Workforce Development Network (COWDN), a collaborative of organizations working to improve employment outcomes, economic mobility, and employer engagement across Central Ohio. The Director is responsible for advancing the Network's strategic priorities, fostering collaboration among member organizations, coordinating shared initiatives, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring members receive meaningful value from participation in the Network. The Director serves as a neutral leader who brings diverse organizations together around common goals and drives execution of collective strategies that improve outcomes for job seekers, employers, and communities. The Director provides strategic leadership, facilitates collaboration among members, coordinates shared initiatives, develops partnerships, and ensures the Network delivers value to its members and measurable results for job seekers, employers, and the community. The shared systems and data of the WDN strive to create a client continuum of services so that there is "no wrong door approach for either clients or employers who interface with the Network organizations. This collective impact approach seeks to create substantial and structured change in the workforce ecosystem by leveraging each organization's abilities to exceed individual or incremental influence. Aspyr is the sponsor of the Workforce Development Network and secures and administers the financial resources required to support the position of the Network Director. Responsibilities & Duties include the following, but may not be limited to: Network Leadership & Governance
  • Lead implementation of COWDN's strategic priorities and annual work plans.
  • Support the Co-Chairs, committees, and workgroups in advancing Network goals.
  • Facilitate productive meetings and consensus-building among member organizations.
  • Ensure alignment with COWDN's mission, membership agreements, and governance structure.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Network leadership and members. Member Engagement & Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for member organizations.
  • Foster strong relationships across the Network and promote active member engagement.
  • Support onboarding and orientation of new members.
  • Facilitate cross-organizational collaboration, resource sharing, and problem-solving.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen member value and participation. Strategic Initiatives & Project Management
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of shared initiatives and collaborative projects.
  • Coordinate efforts that support COWDN's "no wrong door" approach to workforce services.
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and accountability for Network initiatives.
  • Monitor progress, identify barriers, and recommend solutions.
  • Support collaborative funding, partnership, and growth opportunities. Data, Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Promote consistent use of shared processes and performance measures.
  • Monitor Network outcomes and identify trends, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations for members, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Use data to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Assist members in examining outcomes and advancing equitable workforce practices. External Relations & Advocacy
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, workforce partners, educational institutions, community organizations, and government agencies.
  • Represent COWDN in regional, state, and community forums.
  • Support advocacy efforts that strengthen the workforce development ecosystem.
  • Increase awareness of COWDN's impact and member organizations.
  • Promote opportunities that advance workforce development and economic mobility throughout Central Ohio.

This job operates in a professional office environment, off site venues and outside event areas in various weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.

Education/Experience Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Workforce Development, Human Services, Community Development, or demonstrated experience in related fields such as, nonprofit leadership, economic development, community development, education, public sector partnerships, or a related field. Demonstrated success managing multi-stakeholder initiatives, coalitions, networks, or collaborative partnerships. Experience facilitating groups, building consensus, and influencing without direct authority. Experience managing complex projects with multiple priorities and stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to analyze data and use findings to improve performance and outcomes. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Preferred Knowledge and Experience Knowledge of workforce development systems and funding streams. Experience working with nonprofit service providers, workforce development boards, educational institutions, employers, or government agencies. Experience supporting membership organizations, coalitions, collective impact initiatives, or cross-sector collaborations. Familiarity with issues impacting economic mobility, employment barriers, and workforce equity. Grant development, fundraising, or public policy experience. Language Ability Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Will be required to use virtual meeting applications. Will be required to use other applications, both existing and under development, that track data and clients.
