Compensation:

$56,000 - $71,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and internal equity

About You

You are a results-driven professional with experience in relationship management, training, and business development, dedicated to helping partners grow and succeed. Known for building strong relationships, delivering impactful training, and driving sales performance through a customer-focused approach.

Our ideal candidate would live in or around Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Spokane, WA, or Boise, ID, or be open to relocation.



Purpose

The Retail Support Specialist (RSS) will be the primary field contacts charged with business development within STIHL dealerships. These individuals will assist in dealer set-ups for Territory Managers. Concept Store installation and merchandising, new dealer sales training (and training on special tools) are all part of new dealer development. The RSS position will also be responsible for these functions within existing dealers. With SCS upgrades / remerchandising, actively training new STIHL Champions and aligning sales training with STIHL University curriculum, the RSS will ensure established dealers remain competitive and effective in the market, especially as multiple dealers are potentially set up nearby. The roles of sales training and merchandising will also be performed by RSSs at Construction Type National Accounts. This position is an outside sales position; the essential functions of this job will be completed remotely.



Job Duties & Responsibilities Work with Retail Support Manager to coordinate and perform new dealer set-ups; including SCS install, product assembly and merchandising, and static / motion POP set up on display. Train new dealers' staff on STIHL basics (assembly, product nomenclature, PDI, etc.) as well as selling training

Work with existing dealers to help develop their business. Use the functions of re-merchandising, SCS Expansion projects, sales training and STIHL Champion development to ensure dealers have effective SCSs and selling teams

Visit Construction Type National Accounts to establish the boots-on-the-ground relationship between them and STIHL. Provide in-store sales / product training, as well as help installing SCS components and merchandising STIHL product in their showroom

Attend and support STIHL at various regional trade shows, training events (i.e., STIHL U) and dealer events to promote STIHL, our products and services.

Maintain reporting (updating CRM, monthly field reports, field input in regard to store training and development, National Account visits, merchandising success stories / key learnings

Attend sales meetings, dealer training meetings and other required meetings and training

All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Specifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience preferred

Previous sales or retail experience preferred. Previous merchandising experience preferred

1-3 years of related work experience preferred

Travel may be up to 75%

Must be a self-starter and able to perform well with minimal supervision

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to champion and utilize other company-designated software (One

CRM, SAP

) as needed

Demonstrates effective time management and strong organizational skills

STIHL product familiarity is required
