Responsibilities Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, pet coat styling, nail trimming, and ear cleaning to meet each dog's specific needs. Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques and ensure their comfort throughout the grooming process. Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences, provide updates on pet condition, and offer pet care advice. Maintain a clean, organized grooming station by sanitizing tools and work areas regularly. Assist with pet handling during grooming procedures, ensuring gentle yet firm animal handling and animal care standards are upheld. Support pet sitting or boarding duties as needed, providing attentive care for animals in our facility. Engage in ongoing training related to dog training techniques, veterinary experience insights, or veterinary technician experience to enhance service quality. Experience Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred; certification in pet grooming is a plus. Background in veterinary assistant or veterinary technician roles provides valuable insight into animal health and safety. Familiarity with dog training techniques and equine experience is advantageous for handling diverse animals. Strong communication skills for engaging with pet owners about their pets' grooming needs and health concerns. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or large dogs. Demonstrated knowledge of animal restraint methods, pet nail trimming, and general animal care practices. Experience working with companion animals in a professional setting ensures a compassionate approach to all pets.
