Job Description

Position Summary:
The CHW Training Lead will oversee the planning, development, and delivery of the CHW Certification Program. This role ensures high-quality, evidence-based instruction that prepares participants for employment in clinics, hospitals, schools, care coordination agencies, home visitation programs, and other health programs. The Training Lead will mentor instructors, train staff, trainers, and students in the curriculum, coordinate program logistics, implement quality improvement measures, assist in translating program materials, issue certifications, monitor continuing education, and represent the program at community and partner locations as needed. This position is part-time, and state travel may be required as needed. The Training Lead reports to the Executive Director and Program Director and works collaboratively with
HOPE HUB
staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver CHW training sessions using evidence-based curricula and best practices. Train staff, trainers, and students in the program curriculum to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction. Support instructors and facilitate professional development to maintain high instructional standards. Collaborate with FCHIP administration, HOPE HUB staff, and community partners to ensure the program reflects local health systems, Medi-Cal processes, and community needs. Stay up to date on CalAIM benefits and related policies to inform training content and participant guidance. Conduct research to ensure curriculum reflects current best practices, community health trends, and program innovations. Incorporate cultural responsiveness and equity-centered approaches in training content and delivery. Monitor and assess participant progress, providing guidance and feedback to ensure workforce readiness. Issue CHW certifications upon program completion and monitor participants' continuing education requirements. Develop and administer surveys and other tools for quality improvement to evaluate program effectiveness and participant satisfaction. Collect, analyze, and report program data to inform ongoing improvements. Present the program and its outcomes at various locations, including community organizations, partner sites, and stakeholder meetings, as needed. Assist in translating training materials to Spanish and ensure accessibility for all participants. Manage program logistics, including scheduling, materials preparation, and enrollment coordination. Serve as a subject matter expert in community health and CHW workforce development. Utilize technology platforms such as Zoom, learning management systems, and survey tools to support training delivery and evaluation. Represent FCHIP professionally at all program-related events and meetings. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet changing program and community needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
Former experience as a Community Health Worker (CHW). Bilingual in Spanish.
Preferred:
Professional experience working as a CHW Supervisor. Bachelor's degree in Community Health or a related field.
