Duties Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, styling, and pet coat care tailored to each animal's breed and individual needs Handle animals with care and confidence, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff during grooming procedures Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other hygienic grooming tasks to promote pet health and comfort Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their preferences, provide grooming advice, and discuss any health or behavioral concerns observed during grooming Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment for animals and staff Assist with animal handling during other activities such as kennel cleaning or pet sitting when needed Support veterinary staff by recognizing signs of health issues or discomfort in animals during grooming sessions Qualifications Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of pet coat styling techniques Knowledge of dog training, animal handling, and veterinary-related procedures such as veterinary technician or assistant experience is highly desirable Ability to handle dogs safely using animal restraint methods; experience with heavy lifting is beneficial for managing larger breeds or equipment Familiarity with pet care practices including kennel management, pet sitting, and general animal care standards Excellent communication skills to engage with pet owners confidently and professionally Experience in dog handling, veterinary environments, or equine care adds valuable insight to the role Strong customer service skills combined with a genuine love for animals and a positive attitude toward teamwork This energetic position invites passionate animal lovers eager to make a difference in pets' lives while developing their professional skills.
