Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Aide to join our veterinary team. This vital role involves providing high-quality care and support to animals in our facility, ensuring their well-being and comfort throughout their stay. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal husbandry, handling, and veterinary support, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to animal welfare. Responsibilities Assist veterinary staff with animal handling, restraint, and behavior management to ensure safe and stress-free procedures. Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to maintain a hygienic environment. Help with animal husbandry duties including feeding, grooming, and monitoring daily health status. Walk dogs, let pets outside, and provide playtime or social interaction. Bathe animals, groom pets, or assist staff with basic medication administration and handling. Assist with client communication by providing updates on animal care and answering basic questions about pet welfare. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety standards for staff and animals. Experience Candidates should demonstrate prior experience working in veterinary clinics or animal care settings, ideally with exposure to kennel management, veterinary critical care, or equine environments. Experience in handling dogs and other small animals is essential, along with familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures such as medication administration and record keeping. Additional qualifications include : Kennel experience or background in animal husbandry that emphasizes cleanliness and organization. Skills in animal restraint techniques suitable for various species and sizes. Ability to communicate effectively with clients about pet care needs while maintaining professionalism. Experience using PPE appropriately during all procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Greet pet owners, handle drop-offs and pick-ups, and answer basic questions. Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
