One Really Good Human Who Doesn't Mind Sharing the Bed With a Dog Do you talk to animals like they understand every word? Would you notice if a normally food-obsessed dog suddenly left half their dinner untouched? Can you handle being stared at by a cat at 3 a.m. because apparently you're sleeping in their spot? We should probably talk. Pawsitively Pink Pet Services is looking for dependable, compassionate overnight pet sitters to stay in our clients' homes and care for their pets while they travel. Our overnight visits are approximately 10 hours in the client's home. And while there may be plenty of cuddles, fuzzy blankets, and sleepy dogs, this is not simply a place to crash for the night. You are there because someone has trusted you with their home and a member of their family.

WHAT OVERNIGHT CARE LOOKS LIKE

During an overnight stay, you may: Feed pets and refresh water Provide evening and morning potty breaks Walk dogs as instructed Scoop litter boxes and tidy pet-care areas Administer routine medications after training Follow detailed feeding, medication, and bedtime routines Provide companionship to pets experiencing separation anxiety Monitor senior pets or pets with special needs Watch for changes in appetite, behavior, mobility, breathing, bathroom habits, or overall comfort Send thoughtful updates and photos to pet parents Secure doors, gates, locks, and alarms Treat the client's home with care and respect Communicate promptly if something does not seem right Sometimes the job is snuggling with a dog who thinks you're wonderful. Sometimes it is sitting quietly with an anxious pet until they finally settle down. Both matter.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You may be a great fit if you: Are dependable and take commitments seriously Are comfortable staying overnight in clients' homes Truly enjoy caring for both dogs and cats Are calm and patient with anxious, shy, senior, or special-needs pets Notice small changes in an animal's behavior Follow written instructions carefully Communicate clearly and ask questions when needed Can work independently and use good judgment Respect client privacy and property Are willing to learn medication administration and professional pet-care procedures Understand that once you accept an overnight assignment, the pet and your team are counting on you Professional pet-care, veterinary, shelter, rescue, kennel, or animal-handling experience is a plus, but reliability, judgment, compassion, and willingness to learn matter just as much.

OUR CARE PHILOSOPHY

Pawsitively Pink provides fear-free, force-free care. We do not force affection, corner frightened animals, or rush a pet who needs time to feel safe. Some pets greet us like long-lost relatives. Others may spend the first night deciding whether we are trustworthy enough to exist in their living room. We meet them where they are.

THIS JOB CAN BE SERIOUS

You may care for pets who: Take medications Have separation anxiety Are elderly or have limited mobility Are shy, fearful, or slow to trust Have strict feeding or care routines Need additional monitoring overnight You will receive training for the responsibilities assigned to you. We do not expect you to know everything on day one. We do expect you to follow instructions, pay attention, communicate concerns, and never guess when a pet's health or safety is involved.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must: Be at least 18 years old Have a valid driver's license Have a dependable, insured vehicle Have a reliable smartphone with data Be able to pass a background check Complete required training Be available for overnight stays of approximately 10 hours Be available for some weekends and holidays Be comfortable sleeping in clients' homes Be able to safely handle dogs and cats of different sizes and energy levels Be legally authorized to work in the United States

PAY & PERKS
