Part-Time Pet Sitter & Dog WalkerJohns Lake, Hancock & Minneola Area Pawsitively Pink Pet Services | $15-$17 per hour + pooled tips To be considered, you must apply with our form: https://pinkpack.pawsitivelypink.com/widget/form/ANcn5jsbQ1iC2pGWopue We Need a Pet-Care Hero in This Neighborhood Pawsitively Pink Pet Services is growing, and we're looking for a dependable, compassionate pet sitter and dog walker who lives in or very close to the Johns Lake, Hancock Road, or Minneola area. This is a priority position because we don't currently have a sitter dedicated to this part of our service area. We need someone who can become the familiar, trusted face our nearby clients and their pets know. You might spend one visit walking a delighted dog who believes every mailbox contains breaking news. Your next visit may involve giving medication to a senior pet, serving dinner to a deeply impatient cat, or sitting quietly with a nervous animal who needs a little time before deciding you're acceptable. Every pet is different. We like it that way. What the Position Looks Like This is a part-time, flexible position, but pet sitting doesn't happen in one tidy block of time. Visits are scheduled throughout the day based on the pets' normal routines. We especially need availability during a combination of: Weekday mornings Midday hours Evenings Weekends Holidays School breaks and busy travel periods You don't have to be available every hour of every day. However, we do need someone who can offer consistent, dependable availability and reliably complete the visits they accept. Hours will vary depending on client demand. This is best for someone looking to add meaningful part-time work to a flexible schedule rather than someone who needs guaranteed full-time hours immediately. What You'll Do Depending on the household, visits may include: Walking dogs and providing potty breaks Feeding pets and refreshing water Scooping litter boxes and cleaning pet-care areas Providing playtime, enrichment, cuddles, or quiet companionship Administering routine medications after training Watching for changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, or health Sending thoughtful visit reports with photos Following detailed care and home-access instructions Securing the home carefully before leaving Communicating promptly with our office and care team Sometimes a successful visit is a joyful walk around the neighborhood. Sometimes it's sitting across the room from a cautious cat while they study your résumé from underneath the bed. Both matter. Who We're Looking For You may be a wonderful fit if you: Live in or very near Johns Lake, Hancock Road, or Minneola Truly enjoy working with both dogs and cats Notice the small things and take pet behavior seriously Are calm, patient, and willing to let trust develop at the pet's pace Are dependable and understand that pets cannot be left waiting when you've committed to their care Can follow written instructions carefully without making assumptions Communicate clearly and ask questions when something doesn't seem right Are comfortable working independently while remaining connected to a team Can work outdoors in Florida weather Are comfortable entering clients' homes and treating their privacy with respect Are willing to learn medication administration and professional pet-care procedures Can safely manage dogs of different sizes and energy levels Professional pet-care, veterinary, shelter, rescue, kennel, or animal-handling experience is a plus, but we also value the right combination of judgment, reliability, compassion, and willingness to learn. Our Care Philosophy Pawsitively Pink provides fear-free, force-free care. We don't drag frightened dogs, corner hiding cats, or force affection because a photo would be cute. We watch body language, respect boundaries, adjust our approach, and give pets love in the way they're most comfortable receiving it. That may mean belly rubs and enthusiastic kisses. It may also mean a cautious sniff, a tossed treat, or peaceful companionship from the other side of the room. Love is part of the job. Training, documentation, communication, and safety are what help us deliver that love responsibly.
