Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing to meet each dog's specific needs and breed standards Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures Assess each pet's health and behavior, alerting veterinary staff or pet owners to any concerns or abnormalities Maintain a clean, organized grooming station by sanitizing tools and work areas regularly Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with pet owners about grooming preferences, aftercare, and recommendations Assist with pet handling during check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a smooth experience for clients Support pet care routines such as ear cleaning, nail trimming, and coat conditioning to promote overall health and hygiene Requirements Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of different coat types and grooming techniques Knowledge of dog training, handling, and animal restraint methods to ensure safety during grooming sessions Background in veterinary or animal care fields such as veterinary technician or assistant experience is highly desirable Familiarity with animal handling across various species including dogs and horses is a plus Ability to lift heavy objects (heavy lifting) such as tubs of supplies or large dogs safely and effectively Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with pet owners Strong animal handling skills paired with patience, compassion, and attention to detail Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background is advantageous for understanding animal behavior and needs Embark on a fulfilling career where your love for animals meets your grooming talents!
