Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Dog Sitter to provide exceptional care for dogs in-home and at the Ruff Ridge Retreat Chateau (just outside of downtown Hendersonville). The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and experience in various aspects of pet care. This role involves not only looking after pets but also ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while their owners are away. Pets include primarily dogs, sometimes cats. Join our team of trustworthy and enthusiastic dog sitters as we expand Ruff Ridge Retreat to include Asheville, Saluda, and Brevard areas (already operating in the greater Hendersonville area).

Responsibilities Provide our services:

Dog Walks, Doggy Daycare, Overnight Dogsitting (either in client's home or at Ruff Ridge Retreat), Drop-Ins, and Adventure Hikes.

•Job posting can be for 2 or more of these services, depending on your availability (ex. if you want to do only drop-ins and in-home overnights, or dog walks and in-home overnights -- MUST be available for evenings, weekends, and overnights as needed, with plenty of notice). Engage with pets through playtime, exercise, and enrichment. Offer excellent customer service by sending regular check-ins and photos to Tori, owner of Ruff Ridge Retreat, who handles all communication with clients. Take care of house pets, including dogs and cats, as needed. Qualifications Knowledge of animal behavior and training is highly desirable; experience taking care of dogs is required. Strong communication skills to provide prompt & detailed updates for clients. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate clients' schedules.

•All schedules are communicated ahead of time and will be run by you before confirmation with client, so you have full input into your time commitments. Must be able to stay overnight at client homes or at Ruff Ridge Retreat as needed for Overnight Dogsits. Join our team of dedicated pet lovers who strive to provide the best care for our furry friends! Tori, owner of Ruff Ridge Retreat, takes care of all client communication, scheduling, payments, waivers, collecting vaccination & pet health info, etc. You will simply agree to a Retreat Service and then go have fun taking care of the pups without worrying about payments, paperwork, etc. You will be covered under our insurance and paid as a 1099 contractor on a twice-weekly basis.

Pay:

Team members are paid per Retreat Service 80-85% of cost; for example: $30 dog walk on Tuesday means you get paid $25 once the walk is complete that day; $75/night in-home dogsit for 3 nights means you get paid 85% ($192) on the final day of the dogsit. Clients also tip often and all tips go straight to the team members who performed that Retreat Service. Hourly rate will be $18/hr minimum, often around $22/hr and up to $28/hr depending on number of pets, type of Retreat Service, etc. Fair & consistent compensation for quality pet care is one of our values here at Ruff Ridge.
