Please ONLY apply if you are available Monday-Thursday 11 am - 4 pm. Friday a plus! MUST be local to Jersey City Heights or within 15 minutes commuting- you will be responsible for getting to the walks regardless of weather. Must be able to deal with ALL weather conditions. 10 walks minimum per week, but up to 20 walks if coverage is needed/extra walks are requested. Currently looking to fill part time work, a •bonus if you're often available to help with last minute requests & weekend walks.
Responsibilities:
Safely walk dogs of all sizes and personalities, must be strong enough to handle strong dogs safely and confidently. Be able to walk 2-4 miles per day. Meet with dog owners for meet & greets (10-15 minute meets) Monitor dog's health and wellness and be cognizant of any behaviors indicating an issue (example: understand when a dog is too hot or if the dog accidentally steps on something, starts limping, throws up, has diarrhea, etc. and walk should end). Fill water bowls upon leaving, feed dogs dinner when requested. Communicate with dog owners as needed through the app. Must love dogs obviously! Jersey City Heights based dog walking company is searching for a passionate animal lover who is hard working and committed to join our dog walking team! Must have a clean background record. A valid driver's license and access to a car or reliable method of transportation during all weather conditions is required unless you are ok being responsible for using public transportation.
Requirements:
Must be a compassionate animal lover with patience. Responsible, trustworthy, and punctual. Must take the safety of the dogs VERY seriously. Must be able to anticipate the dogs becoming reactive unexpectedly and be strong enough when they pull. Able to carry 30-50 pounds in case of emergencies. Must be willing to work through any weather condition- rain, heat, snow, etc Previous professional dog walking experience preferred, but not required. Committed to a minimum of 6 months of employment. This is important for dogs to have the same walker consistently.
Other Information:
Training will be throughout the week to meet the possible dogs to be walked. $100-300 per week
