Highland Lakes Canine Rescue (HLCR) is seeking a dedicated full-time Shelter Technician to join our hardworking and compassionate team. Located in beautiful Marble Falls, TX, HLCR is a sanctuary for dogs in need, and we're committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs—especially those with medical or behavioral challenges. About the
Role:
As a Shelter Technician, you'll be the heartbeat of our daily operations—providing direct care, enrichment, and love to our dogs while maintaining a clean, safe, and positive environment. This is a physical, fast-paced role that includes feeding, walking, training, cleaning, and providing basic medical care. You'll also interact with volunteers, potential adopters, and support our rescue mission through community events and adoption days.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care for dogs: feeding, walking, bathing, training, and monitoring health Administer medications and assist with veterinary treatments (we'll train you!) Clean kennels, outdoor runs, and common areas to maintain shelter hygiene Supervise and assist volunteers with dog handling and care Help introduce dogs to potential adopters and support adoption events Assist with transporting dogs, intake procedures, and other shelter needs
Schedule & Requirements:
Must be available to work some weekends and holidays Must be able to lift, bend, and handle dogs of all sizes Valid Texas driver's license required Dog handling experience is a plus, but we will train compassionate, reliable candidates
