Veterinary Assistant/Technician

Pet Urgent Care is seeking experienced veterinary assistants and technicians to be part of our growing practice in Urgent Animal Care Services. We are a privately owned practice. Our state of the art facility focuses on client communication and strengthening the human animal bond, while delivering top notch service and care to our clients and patients. We service typical cases in a day and walk in emergencies, and have the support for referral (if/when necessary) for all major life threatening conditions. Veterinary Assistant/Reception:
Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and/or note any changes of patient's condition to Veterinarian Assist Veterinarian with diagnostic and treatments. Obtain lab samples, prep slides and assist with ear cytology, fecal prep, labwork collection and in house lab equipment. Clip/clean wounds, clip/surgical prep patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests Assist with treatment plan templates and estimates for clients. Check in/Invoice out patients when needed Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations High quality client communication on patient updates and questions Answer phones properly, assist clients, light administrative duties,
CSR Position Requirements:
High School diploma or GED certificate Flexible schedule including some weekend and a few holiday shifts (Holiday sign up optional and not mandatory)
•closed on major holidays. Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations, and work with others on a team respectfully Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. Basic computer skills/typing skills Certifications preferred but not required, Experience preferred
