Brown Veterinary Services - Monroe, GA Brown Veterinary Services is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a busy, privately owned mixed-animal veterinary practice in Monroe. We see dogs and cats, but we also see farm animals, exotics, birds, reptiles, and the occasional patient that makes everyone stop and ask, "What is THAT?" No two days here are exactly the same. We're looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, good with animals and people, and willing to jump in wherever needed. What you'll do: Assist veterinarians during appointments and treatments Safely restrain dogs, cats, and other species Assist with blood draws, injections, medications, and sample collection Run in-house laboratory testing Assist with digital X-rays Set up and assist with surgical procedures Monitor and recover surgical patients Clean, disinfect, stock, and maintain treatment areas Help care for hospitalized patients Assist with large-animal and exotic patients as needed Help keep the clinic moving when things get busy What we're looking for: Previous veterinary assistant experience is preferred , but we will consider someone with strong animal-handling experience and the right attitude. You should be comfortable getting dirty, cleaning kennels, dealing with bodily fluids, handling stressed animals, and being on your feet for most of the day. This is veterinary medicine — there are definitely puppies involved, but there is also a whole lot of cleaning.
