We operate as a tight-knit team where cross-training is highly valued, ensuring a smooth, supportive, and compassionate environment for our staff, clients, and patients. Job Summary We are seeking a versatile, experienced Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist to join our team. This dual role splits time between managing the front desk and assisting in the exam rooms. Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting is strictly required , but formal LVT licensure or certification is not necessary. The ideal candidate is a master multitasker who can deliver top-tier client service on the phone while safely handling a patient when called to the back.
Key Responsibilities Front Desk Reception:
Greet clients warmly, manage multi-line phone systems, schedule appointments, process check-outs/payments, and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
Clinical Assisting:
Safely and compassionately restrain dogs, cats, and exotic pets (rabbits, pocket pets, reptiles, birds) for examinations, blood draws, and medical treatments.
Clinic Flow & Operations:
Assist technicians and doctors with room turnover, clean and sterilize surgical packs, input lab requests, and fill veterinary prescriptions under direct supervision.
Client Education:
Act as a bridge of communication, providing clear updates to clients regarding basic preventative care, medication instructions, and clinic policies.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience working inside a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting (Required) .
Certification:
No formal LVT/CVT certification or degree required. Comfortable and confident handling a diverse range of companion animals, including exotic species. Excellent communication skills, strong emotional intelligence, and a reliable team-player work ethic. Schedule & Hours Daytime clinic hours (No late nights, no weekends, and major holidays off). Pay:
$16.50 - $18.50 per hour Expected hours: 38.0 - 40.0 per week
