Healthier pets. The Whisker Fixer is a new veterinary practice focused on affordable soft-tissue surgery and dentistry for dogs and cats . We're building a modern, welcoming practice where pets receive excellent medicine and their people feel heard, respected, and cared for. We're looking for a Veterinary Technician who wants to be an important part of building something special from the ground up. Whether you've been working in veterinary medicine for years or are looking for an opportunity to grow your clinical skills, we'd love to meet you. What you'll do As a Veterinary Technician, you'll be an integral part of our surgical and dental team.
Responsibilities will include:
Assisting veterinarians with surgical and dental procedures Preparing patients for surgery and dentistry Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Patient preparation, catheter placement, and blood draws Assisting with dental radiographs and dental procedures Preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing surgical and dental instruments Monitoring patients throughout their perioperative care Administering medications and treatments as directed Maintaining accurate medical records Communicating with clients about their pets' care Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient treatment and surgical environment Helping develop and maintain hospital protocols and workflows as we grow Providing compassionate care to every patient who walks through our doors We're looking for someone who is: Experienced in veterinary medicine, preferably in a clinical setting Comfortable handling dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments Knowledgeable in patient care and basic clinical procedures Confident with anesthesia and surgical patient monitoring (preferred) Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive A strong communicator Comfortable working in a focused, fast-paced surgical environment Compassionate toward patients and their people Eager to learn, take initiative, and continue developing clinical skills Someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive team
Credentialing:
Veterinary technician licensure or certification is not required for this position. Candidates with formal veterinary technician credentials and relevant clinical experience are encouraged to apply. Strong hands-on experience and demonstrated clinical skills will be given preference. Why The Whisker Fixer? We're not trying to build a traditional veterinary hospital.
