Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate veterinary team. In this vital role, you will provide essential support in animal care, diagnostic procedures, surgical assistance, and client communication. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in veterinary medicine, animal handling, and laboratory techniques, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment. Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests utilizing veterinary software and laboratory equipment. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary protocols. Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, including IV insertion, vascular access management, and anesthesia monitoring. Support emergency medicine efforts by providing critical care, performing phlebotomy, and managing intensive care cases. Operate radiology equipment to perform diagnostic imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques. Assist with pet care routines including feeding, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels or treatment areas. Support veterinary procedures such as animal catheterization, venipuncture, and radiology diagnostics with precision. Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary software and ensure proper documentation of all procedures performed. Skills Proven kennel experience with strong animal husbandry skills across various species including dogs and horses. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and medical procedures. Experience with veterinary critical care, emergency medicine, anesthesia administration, and monitoring. Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as phlebotomy and diagnostic testing. Ability to handle animals confidently using appropriate restraint techniques for safety. Familiarity with veterinary surgical assistance and the operation of medical equipment. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Competence in radiology diagnostics including X-ray operation and interpretation. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for record keeping and procedural accuracy. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
