We are not a typical dog-and-cat general practice. Our team provides high-quality care for avian and exotic pets, including small mammals, birds, reptiles, backyard fowl, and other unique companion animals. We also offer integrative and holistic care, advanced diagnostics, surgery, pain management, and client education for patients whose needs are often complex and highly individualized. The CVT will partner with veterinarians and the management team to ensure appointments run smoothly, patients are handled safely, records are accurate, prescriptions and treatments are completed correctly, and clients receive clear home-care and follow-up instructions. What You Will Do Support veterinarians during appointments, diagnostics, treatments, surgery, anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and discharges. Collect and document accurate patient histories, weights, clinical observations, client conversations, and follow- up instructions. Use calm, safe, species-appropriate handling for exotic and non-traditional companion animals. Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, surgical materials, and equipment. Assist with lab procedures, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluids, wound prep, bandaging, vital signs, and patient monitoring within scope and supervision requirements. Reliability, professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a busy clinic. Nice to Have Experience in exotic, avian, reptile, wildlife, zoo, emergency, specialty, integrative, or high-complexity veterinary care. Strong anesthesia monitoring, surgery support, recovery, pharmacy, and controlled-drug experience. Experience with Avimark or similar veterinary practice-management software.
