About Rikka Rikka Law Group is a woman and minority-owned technology law firm founded by Charlyn Ho, a former U.S. Navy Supply Corps officer, Cravath associate, Perkins Coie partner, and Forbes.com contributor quoted in outlets including Legaltech News and Cointelegraph. We are also a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, which matters here: this role supports proceedings for the Wyoming National Guard, and we understand the mission behind that work firsthand. Rikka has built its practice representing technology companies on AI, privacy, and compliance, and we have recently begun extending that work into federal contracting. As our federal contracting work grows, there may be opportunities for additional assignments. You would be working directly with our team, not filing a transcript into a file. Are you excited to work with a fast-growing law firm with multiple learning opportunities? Are you a self-starter who is willing to go the extra mile to hit your goals? Rikka is an employer that sets goals and accomplishes them by empowering you with opportunities for self-improvement and growth. About the role Rikka Law Group is seeking a qualified court reporter to support hearings under a potential Wyoming National Guard contract. You will record proceedings and prepare accurate, certified transcripts. Employment is contingent on Rikka receiving the contract award. Responsibilities Capture a complete, word-for-word record of testimony and other on-the-record statements; read back testimony when requested. Administer oaths as authorized and follow the presiding official's directions. Prepare, proofread and certify transcripts, organize exhibits, and meet delivery and correction deadlines. Support in-person and telephonic proceedings and operate the required reporting, transcription and communication equipment. Arrive or make telephone contact at least 30 minutes before proceedings to allow for setup. Protect sensitive government information and personal data, and follow secure record-handling procedures. Qualifications Current professional court-reporting certification and a current notary commission with authority to administer oaths for the assigned proceedings. Accurate high-speed verbatim reporting and transcription skills, with strong knowledge of English and legal terminology. Proficiency with court-reporting software, computer-aided transcription and real-time readback functions. Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines. Experience reporting hearings or depositions is preferred. Location and schedule Proceedings may be in person at Government-designated locations or by telephone; this is not a fully remote role. Candidates near Cheyenne, or able to travel reliably to assigned locations on short notice, are encouraged to apply. Assignments may require availability within 24 hours of notice and may last one day to two weeks or longer. Dates and hours are not yet confirmed, and no minimum weekly hours are guaranteed. Please identify any scheduling or travel restrictions. Compensation $40 per hour in base pay, depending on qualifications and experience, plus applicable required benefits and leave. Hourly pay covers reporting, preparation and transcript production. How to apply Apply through this posting with your resume, current certification and notary details, location, travel radius, availability and hourly pay expectations. Please describe the reporting equipment and software you can provide. Do not submit confidential client records.
