Job Description

Header Overview Join our dynamic legal team as a Law Student Intern, where you will gain invaluable hands-on experience supporting a wide range of legal practices. This paid internship offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal skills, deepen your understanding of various law disciplines, and contribute meaningfully to real cases. You will work closely with seasoned attorneys and legal professionals, assisting with research, document review, case management, and client communication. This role is ideal for motivated law students eager to apply their academic knowledge in a fast-paced, professional environment while building essential skills for their future legal careers. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive legal research across multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and civil litigation support. Assist in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, contracts, and correspondence with attention to detail and accuracy. Support case management activities using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw; organize and maintain case files efficiently. Review and analyze legal documents, contracts, and case files to identify relevant information and ensure procedural compliance. Participate in client interviews and prepare summaries to facilitate case development; handle confidential information with discretion. Support attorneys with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, proofreading, and preparing reports using Microsoft Office tools. Engage in legal research utilizing Westlaw and LexisNexis to gather pertinent case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents across diverse practice areas such as tribal law, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, and more. Skills Strong knowledge of procedural law and familiarity with various practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, personal injury law, patent law, tribal law & regulations, and general & commercial litigation. Proven experience with legal support functions such as document review, case management software (iManage), Westlaw or LexisNexis research tools. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Effective communication skills for client interaction and collaboration within a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint) along with familiarity with legal document drafting and proofreading. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while demonstrating professionalism in all interactions. Experience in interviewing clients or witnesses is a plus; strong writing skills for preparing clear reports are essential. Knowledge of project management principles to support attorneys in meeting deadlines and managing caseloads effectively.
