PART-TIME LAW CLERK - MODERN LEGAL PC
(FRESNO) Modern Legal PC is a civil litigation firm, focusing on real estate and business law, owned and operated by SJCL alumni with an opening for an in-office Clerk. The position is paid and qualifies for clinical units for those students seeking to fulfill elective requirements. The position will work one-on-one with the attorney and gain invaluable civil litigation experience. The Firm is open to participating in the Certified Student program for qualified candidates at the attorney's discretion. The position is in-office, and scheduling will be flexible to accommodate the candidate's class schedule, final examinations schedule, and study hours. The position's duties will include: (1) drafting and responding to discovery, (2) preparing discovery plans, (3) drafting law and motion papers, (4) drafting demand letters, (5) conducting legal research and preparing memoranda, (6) assisting with trial preparation, and (7) other drafting/projects at the attorney's direction. Qualified candidates must possess excellent writing and legal analysis skills, good communication and problem-solving skills, good grammar skills, the ability to follow specific instructions, attention to detail, and be well-organized.
