Diaz LLC The Law Offices of Luis C. Diaz, LLC are seeking a full-time associate to assist with all aspects of our immigration practice. Salary is commensurate with experience. We represent asylum seekers, unaccompanied children, detained non-citizens, and families. We are a fast-paced and quickly growing firm currently comprised of 3 attorneys and 5 Admin/Support Staff members. Recent Law School Graduates that have taken the July 2026 Bar Exam are also encouraged to apply. Our office is located less than ten minutes from Silver Spring metro close to downtown Silver Spring.

Strong research and writing skills. Interest in immigration law and desire to advocate for the rights of non-citizens. Some experience in immigration law would be a bonus, but not required.
Duties Include:
Court Appearances before the U.S. Immigration Courts and Maryland State Court Proceedings (Mostly Custody) Legal research
  • related to immigration law: humanitarian immigration and immigration detention issues; related to family law: custody, guardianship, child abuse and neglect Other research
  • related to country conditions, human rights reports, political regimes Writing
  • asylum briefs outlining persecution, country conditions and particular social groups; briefs to support reductions in bond; petitions for custody or guardianship and related Special Immigrant Juvenile Status petitions; client affidavits
