Full Job Description Position Summary:
The core essential duty of this position requires directly observing male patients during urine drug collection (UAs). Restricting applicants to biological males is necessary to protect patient bodily privacy, comply with state/clinical regulations regarding observed toxicological collection, and maintain the therapeutic integrity of our program. Performs complex secretarial work of an administrative nature with minimal instruction or supervision. Provides assistance to supervisor in administrative areas.
Essential Functions:
. A primary core function of this role is conducting direct-observation urine drug screenings (UAs) for male patients to ensure specimen integrity while upholding patient dignity, safety, and privacy standards.
Performs and/or oversees a variety of associated administrative, fiscal, staff support, and planning activities, some of which require advanced or specialized knowledge and skills.
Uses various software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
May coordinate meeting logistics, providing basic secretarial functions including document preparation and management, note taking, and meeting minutes
May utilize knowledge and understanding of underlying operational issues to create, compose, and edit technical and/or administrative correspondence and documentation.
May provide and/or oversee program support activities such as answering telephones, assisting and resolving problems and inquiries of visitors, review and control of incoming and outgoing correspondence, and follow-up on operational commitments.
Male candidates only. Due to the essential duty of performing directly observed urine drug screenings for male patients, male gender is a legal Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) for this specific role pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2(e)). Federal courts and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) consistently recognize bodily privacy and modesty in healthcare/treatment settings as valid bases for a BFOQ when duties involve observing nudity or intimate bodily functions.
