Job Description
Assists Legal Team with various duties including medical records, scheduling, scanning, file preparation, and client contact in English, and Spanish. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Must be able to read, write, interpret, and speak fluently in both Spanish and English Communicates with clients, court counsel, adjusters, medical providers, nurse case managers and others in English, and Spanish. Translate verbal communication in real time, delivering messages in both English and Spanish at attorney-client meetings, telephone conferences, etc. Schedule depositions, mediations, client meetings / telephone conferences, and assist with client medical referrals. Maintain attorney's event calendar (depositions, hearings, meetings, etc.) Create written translations of documents and messages, providing copies of documents in both languages. Electronic logging of all mail, medical records, medical bills, discovery, and pleadings. Obtain medical records and prepare medical indexes / maintains the flow of discovery. Take new client intake calls and enter the information into our case management database. Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision. Sound business acumen regarding administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft Office. Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with attention to detail. Possesses sound judgment and is decisive. Legal experience (preferred)
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience in Workers' Compensation and/or law firm is a plus.
Language Skills:
ability to write basic business correspondence and email in both English and Spanish.
Computer Skills:
should have knowledge of the Internet, Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience with a Case Management software is a plus.
