We are seeking a highly organized Litigation Legal Assistant to work directly alongside our Lead Litigation Paralegal. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role managing an active, intense caseload focused heavily on intellectual property and counterfeiting enforcement. This position is designed for someone seeking deep professional stability and a long-term career home. This is a demanding role with tight court deadlines; it is not a temporary stepping-stone or transitional position. For the right candidate, this role offers a defined, structured path to transition into a senior support or paralegal role over time. We strongly prefer candidates with prior litigation experience. However, we will train a sharp, highly technical candidate who possesses an exceptional learning curve and desire to master a complex legal niche.
Key Responsibilities Caseload Management:
Partner with the litigation paralegal to drive a high-volume caseload, ensuring no deadlines slip through the cracks
Document Production:
Prepare, proofread, and format heavy volumes of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
Federal & State E-Filing:
Master and execute electronic court filings (ECF/PACER) and strictly track rigid court-mandated deadlines
Data & File Organization:
Maintain flawless digital case files, track evidence, and aggressively manage any backlog
Calendar Ownership:
Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, court appointments, and attorney calendars
Client & Firm Communication:
Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, answering phones, processing mail, and managing general office logistics
Advanced Ownership:
Take on independent casework, complex task management, and increased responsibility as your skills develop
Qualification Experience:
Prior litigation or law firm experience is strongly preferred (Paralegal certificate or degree is a plus).
Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional law firm experience preferred
Work Ethic:
Proven ability to thrive under pressure, ability to prioritize tasks, and manage multiple competing deadlines
Technical Aptitude:
Advanced proficiency with tech tools, familiarity with ECF/PACER, federal filing procedures, or legal case management software is a major plus
