In the position of HSE Engineer, your main missions will be to: Manage HSE document management systems, including the distribution of controlled documents and record-keeping to meet compliance requirements. Enhance employee safety awareness by delivering comprehensive and consistent training, covering both regulatory and company-mandated topics. Assist in developing and maintaining safety programs to ensure a safe, injury-free work environment in accordance with company policies and local and national regulations, including training compliance and ergonomics. Support preparation of required federal, state, and local government reports on environmental matters and other HSE reports as requested by management, under the direction of the HSE Manager. Manage the pollution prevention program. Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and company standards, maintaining all necessary programs, records, and evidence according to established guidelines. Assist the HSE Manager in updating HSE documentation as needed and continuously improving the HSE management system, based on ISO 14001 and company standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop effective solutions for environmental challenges, focusing on carbon reduction commitments. Manage chemical requests and inventories, including proper labeling, use, storage, and disposal to ensure compliance and safety. Review and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring all are accessible for employee reference. Oversee safe handling and movement of hazardous materials, ensuring proper containment of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste, and coordinate off-site disposal. Lead accident and near miss investigations, including environmental incidents and risk/impact assessments, working with supervisors and managers to identify and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Provide advice and support to site employees and managers on HSE issues. Conduct HSE evaluations for change management projects to ensure regulatory compliance. Plan, coordinate, and assess regular emergency drills to verify workplace preparedness and improve response effectiveness. Coordinate and conduct industrial hygiene monitoring (noise, air quality, vibration) as required. Perform general workplace risk assessments, environmental impact assessments, and chemical risk assessments, and recommend corrective actions. Prepare reports to support ongoing monitoring and improvement of HSE performance. Practice and promote safe work habits and contribute to the ongoing development of the HSE program and culture. Perform additional duties as assigned. Some travel required (approximately 10%). Knowledge of HSE Regulations:
Understanding of federal, state, and local Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, as well as
ISO 14001
standards.
HSE Documentation Management:
Experience managing document control systems, record-keeping, and compliance documentation.
Training Delivery:
Ability to develop and deliver employee training programs on safety, environmental, and regulatory topics.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities:
Strong skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, root cause analysis, and recommending effective corrective actions.
Project Management:
Capability to coordinate multiple HSE initiatives, reports.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Clear verbal and written communication, and ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and management. Attention to

Careful review and maintenance of records, inventories, and compliance documentation.
Continuous Improvement Mindset:
Willingness to propose and implement enhancements to HSE programs and culture.
Chemical Handling Knowledge:
Familiarity with chemical safety, labeling, inventory management, and hazardous material handling.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Ability to compile, analyze, and present HSE data using reports and dashboards.
Adaptability:
Flexibility in managing a diverse set of duties and shifting priorities.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Computer Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), HSE management software, and document control platforms. Ability to work in both office (desk-based) and industrial (shop floor) environments. Regular, predictable attendance is required. But what else?
