Mechanic
Job Description
Mechanic on 2nd Shift. The Mechanic is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of trucks and heavy-duty machinery.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to safety standards including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), remove hazards as identified, and maintain cleanliness of the site. Performs repairs on engines, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and electrical equipment on the site's trucks and yard machinery. Air system diagnostics and repair. Electrical diagnostics and repairs Inspect, lubricate and service equipment per company maintenance schedules. Change flat tires. Make service calls on down trucks and pick up parts from various dealerships as required. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and make necessary repairs, adjustments, or replacements Drive trucks and trailers to test their performance. Perform cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TOOLS & PRIOR EXPEREINCE.
High School Diploma/GED and must be at least 18 years of age. Must have valid driver's license, CDL preferred. Experience as a diesel mechanic and experience with hydraulic systems preferred. Experience welding and torching preferred. Mechanic license or equivalent experience. Ability to work independently, self-motivated and self-directed. Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain accurate records Ability to follow oral and written communication Ability to climb ladders or steps to reach objects Ability to endure physical and outdoor work on a daily basis. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Work cooperatively with other employees and the public Must be able to work rotating shifts Must be able to work in an environment where routinely exposed to dust, dirt, vibrations, extreme climate and changes in weather.
•Training on day shift & potentially moving to afternoons after training.
Pay:
$18.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
